If you want to know how to play/main a character, there’s this guide: Some characters will have their special bar slowly filled. If you press Select (Tab on Computer), your current character will do a unique action that’s just a taunt, or actually benefits them in some way. You fill it up by attacking, collecting coins, or touching certain objects. For example, if your character is Goku and he gets knocked out/killed, he gets a special bar and health boost. Yeah, also all playable characters have these “abilities”, which either help or nerf them in some way. You can double jump, and some characters can triple jump or wall jump without the help of Spirits. There’s also Weak Attack (B on DS, Z on computer) Strong Attack (Y on DS, A on computer) Block (down) and A on DS or X on computer is Jump. Because of the style of the game and the console, characters have way less attacks than the ones in Smash Bros. The button for that is X on DS and S on computer. You can, however, challenge the AI in Rankings mode.Īs for the gameplay, there’s only two special moves. The only other downside is that since I doubt anybody besides me plays this game anymore, I don’t think you’ll be able to challenge other people on multiplayer mode.

Ultimate version instead because I think it sounds way better. Btw, the game actually calls these things Battle “Komas”, Support “Komas”, and Help “Komas” respectively, but I’m just using the Smash Bros. As in you need at least one playable character, one Assist Trophy, and one Spirit. Also, you have to have at least one of each in order to use your deck.

They can’t give nerfs to your character, no matter what. They also give buffs to your character, but you can’t stack the effects, and the Spirits are their own “separate” things. The 1 space pictures are your Spirits in this game. Also, most Assist Trophies are also playable characters, and sometimes they have moves/attacks that they don’t have as a playable character. Anything 4 or above is a playable character. The pictures that are 2-3 spaces long are the Assist Trophies. Instead, you have to place the comic book pictures on your deck. Also, Assist Trophies are super brief, and you won’t find it on the ground. You will have to complete certain missions to unlock many of these pictures. Instead, you collect these comic book pictures in story mode, and you place them on your deck. The biggest difference is that there’s no character select screen. I only really dislike how the game never came out in America, and that I feel it should’ve been worked on longer. The only downside is that quite a lot of stuff isn’t translated, like the Quiz (you will have to go through it much later during story mode, but don’t worry, you don’t have to get all the questions right), the “graphics”/letters, and some other small stuff. There’s no puzzles, no long, drawn out mazes or pathways, it’s literally just a standard main Mario level select screen, nothing more. The “story mode” is essentially World of Light, but a million times less repetitive, drawn out, and bland.

You just need to download the game, and this software emulator called “OpenEmu”.

Reason being that there’s a English patch that is (mostly) translated and only on the computer. Sorry to say, but unless if you can read Japanese, then to play it, you’re gonna need a computer. It’s essentially Smash Ultimate on the NDS, but with 80’s through early 2000’s anime characters like Goku, Naruto, Luffy, Ichigo, and Gon.
